If the functional properties of your steel component are known, we can inform you about the technical feasibility in the short term. In addition we can give an indication of the corresponding price level. When both conditions are met, your design (2D drawing, digital 3D model or prototype) can be optimized for our casting process.

ProSteels can offer support if the functional requirements are not evident yet. Our engineers and specialists have the right technical knowledge and experience to advise you properly. They function as an extension of your organization. Our goal is to incorporate your technical wishes and requirements.

When developing a new steel part or when optimizing an existing component, it might not be directly clear which production method is most suitable. At this stage, several techniques and production methods will be evaluated by our engineers. When it appears that the lost wax method is most suitable, we will be happy to assist you.

Quality or technical problems

The timely delivery of castings is of great importance for the production of semi-finished or finished products. Delayed deliveries lead to stagnation in your production. There is great uncertainty about lead times. The costs of this can be high. It also results in dissatisfied end customers because you are unable to meet your contractual obligations.

For products that must be newly developed, the period prior to market introduction is often short. Our organisational structure has been set up so that we can guarantee both rapid and flexible delivery times, allowing for the achievement of rapid time to market, if necessary.

Price level

Often, the selection of a castings supplier is made on the basis of purchase price. This makes sense, since good procurement policy is the first penny of profit. Generally, related invisible indirect costs are not taken into account. These costs arise from, for example, long delivery times, the need to maintain large inventories, poor communications and/or poor product quality. As a result, the customer often pays much more in the long term than he expected. In other words: the lowest price can be expensive.

Therefore, ProSteels deliberately chooses to visualise all of the visible and invisible costs by using TCO. In this manner, you, the customer, always get an undistorted picture of the actual costs and are not faced with surprises later.

our metallurgical specialists have the right practical and theoretical knowledge for all types of steel. A good design depends entirely on the proper choice of material. If you would like to know more about the chemical composition, structure, hardness, tensile strength or perhaps heat resistance, then our metallurgical specialists can advise you professionally. They have considerable knowledge in the area of materials, heat and surface treatments, and constitute an experienced extension of your product development department.

Selecting the proper steel alloy is work for specialists. It is important to know the properties that the steel must possess. Consider, for example:

Product development

ProSteels provides the most added value when we are involved as early as possible in the development of a new product: Early Supplier Involvement. Our technicians think along with you about optimal product development from a production standpoint, for a product that meets all quality requirements. During the co-development phase, we try to eliminate unnecessary steps in the production process wherever possible, such as, extra treatments, heat treatments or assembly. This allows us to achieve considerable price reductions and a favourable price level (TCO) is guaranteed.

Our experienced engineers and professional specialists make sure that the design of your product is immediately suitable for series production. This makes it possible for you to introduce your product to the market on time. This guarantees a short time to market.

Product evaluation

Before ProSteels starts the series production of a product, the pre-series products are first evaluated. These products are inspected internally at ProSteels for their dimensioning and material properties, among other things. If so desired, destructive, non-destructive or microstructural analysis can also be performed.

In addition the components are delivered to the customer for evaluation. The customer can test the product for functionality, dimensions, strength, appearance and various other important parameters. Based on the results, it is determined whether the product is ready to be produced in series or if additional technical adaptations need to be implemented. High product quality is safeguarded by means of this intensive evaluation phase, as is a stable production process and a high degree of delivery reliability. All of this is combined with a favourable price level.
